Get to Know Your Board

Get to Know Your Board Members: Maria Herman, Director of Special Events

Who is your employer and what do you do? Logic Commercial Real Estate. I am a shopping center leasing agent with background in shopping center development. I also work with both Buyers and Sellers both single tenant buildings on up to major shopping centers.

What is your commercial real estate background? How long have you been in commercial real estate? How did you get started in the industry? I started out in real estate in 1989 as an assistant to a top producing residential agent. I went on to get my license so I could be a licensed assistant. However, after three years in residential I realized it was not for me. I decided to go into the commercial and it was love at first transaction. I have never looked back.

Why did you join CREW? How long have you been a member? I believe I originally joined CREW in 2006 because it was the only organization that was small enough for my membership to make a difference. I love not being “just a number” like the other larger organizations, but mostly, because we are small enough to get to know one another.

What is your position on the board of directors? How long have you been on the board? I will be Director of Special Events. I am a Past President and I look forward to a wonderful 2018 with CREW.

Why did you join the board of Directors? Because Melissa asked me to. 🙂 I have missed being a part of a truly awesome Board and organization

What do you bring to the board and the organization? My dedication to CREW’s success, and my willingness to watch our little chapter grow within the Commercial Real Estate industry.

How has business networking with CREW helped you? I have found wonderful vendors to assist with growing my business. From Title, and Lenders, to painters and landscapers, etc.

How long have you resided in Las Vegas? If not a native, where are you from originally? I moved from NYC in November 1977 and have been here ever since.

What do you do for relaxation and fun? My #1 form of relaxation is to jump on my Harley and go for a day ride, or a weekend getaway. If that doesn’t work, then there is always a good novel to read by Dean Koontz, or James Patterson, or Stephen King. Or hiking, or bike riding, or chasing my dogs around…. you get the picture.

Anything else about yourself you would like to add? I work hard and play just as hard. I’m goal oriented, and once I dig my teeth into an idea, cause, job, etc, I don’t easily let go.
