run for the roses

Run for the Roses 2018 had it all, and it was truly a superfecta!

The superfecta is a type of wager in USA parimutuel betting in which the bettor, in order to win, must pick the first four finishers of a race in the correct sequence.

This year’s event had it all. A wonderful charity to support, amazing networking, food and tons of fun!!

folded flag foundation The charity that benefitted from this event was the Folded Flag Foundation. The Folded Flag’s mission is to provide educational scholarships and support grants to the spouses and children of the United States military and government personnel who died as a result of hostile action or in an accident related to U.S. combat operations.

Scholarships and grants are available to qualifying spouses of fallen heroes and their children under the age of 26 to help provide a pathway to success by covering a wide range of living expense and educational needs, from kindergarten to college/trade school.100% of donations go to families since all administrative costs are paid for by corporate sponsors.

A portion of the proceeds will also benefit the CREW Network Foundation.

Networking included tons of introductions and conversation, plus a wonderful photo booth that offered tons of fun and friends striking poses together. The photo booth was a fabulous addition to this already amazing night.

run for the roses dessertsThe weather, venue and food was also exceptional. The pasta bar was delicious and everyone seemed to enjoy the food as well as the desert bar, which was a feast for the eyes.

Hats off to the organizers of the event, Maria Herman of Logic Commercial Real Estate, Melissa Campanella of NewMarket Advisors and the entire Special Events Committee who all outdid themselves in every way.  The extra touches, like the hats and the wonderful horse displays and game set up was just outstanding.
